WEST LAFAYETTE -- Lots of snow, more snow and just a little more snow seems to have been the case for the majority of the area for the past several months. Some of the local area schools are now preparing to make changes to the school calendar.
The Ridgewood Local Board of Education recently announced that 12 days have been missed due to the excessive snow fall. Four days were missed in January and eight days were missed in February. The board had a special meeting March 1 to discuss modification to the school calendar. They later approved the following make up days for Ridgewood: April 5, 6, May 28, June 1, 2, 3, and 4.
During the same meeting, the school board approved a memorandum of understanding regarding the Ridgewood Education Association (REA).
The board has also approved Sunday, June 6 at 6 p.m. as the graduation date for the Class of 2010.
The board's next regular meeting is set for March 15 at 7 p.m. in the high school library.
