BORDER, Raymond Funeral services for U.S. Navy Builder Chief Petty Officer Border, 31, of West Lafayette, were Nov. 3, 2011, at the Miller Funeral Home, Coshocton. He was killed by an improvised explosive device while assessing a route in Paktika Province, Afghanistan. A Navy Seabee, he was assigned to a provincial reconstruction team. His home unit was Navy Mobile Construction Battalion 74 in Gulfport, Miss., where he has been stationed for the past 12 years. Interment followed in the Plainfield Cemetery with full military honors performed by the United States Navy.

FINZER, Florence Anna Funeral services for Mrs. Finzer, 88, of Stone Creek, were Nov. 3, 2011, at the Grace Community Church, Stone Creek. The Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek was in charge of arrangements. She passed away Oct. 31, 2011, at the Park Village Assisted Living in Dover.

SLUTZ, Virginia C. Cremation care was conducted through Geib's Tuscarawas Valley Crematory in Dover for Mrs. Slutz, 89, of Newcomerstown, formerly of New Philadelphia. Memorial services were Nov. 5, 2011, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, New Philadelphia. She fell asleep in death on Thursday, Oct. 27.
