Most abused prescription drugs come from family and friends. You could be a drug dealer and not even know it. Clean out your medicine cabinets of medications that you no longer use. Make your home safer and help stop medication misuse and abuse.

Turn in your family's unused medicines on Saturday, March 31 from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Newcomerstown Health & Safety Expo at West Elementary School.

Feinstein Challenge

It is spring so it must be the Feinstein Challenge to help promote donations of food and money to Journey's End's food pantry. The promotion begins March 1 and runs through April 30. All food donated during this period will be counted as a $1 donation per can and that along with cash donations will be counted toward a portion of the Feinstein funds that are sent out to all participating churches and food pantries. Help by donating during this period.

Journey's End Ministries is open to accept food donations on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7 to 11 a.m. and from 2 to 5 p.m.

Youth league auction

The Cy Young Youth League program, which serves approximately 300 boys and girls ages 5 to 15, will have a fundraising auction on Saturday, March 17 at 11 a.m. in the Laborers Local Hall, corner of Main and River streets, Newcomerstown.

They are asking for donations of merchandise or a gift certificate for the auction.

Steak fry set

UHRICHSVILLE -- A St. Patrick's Day steak fry is set for Saturday, March 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Uhrichsville Elks, 324 N. Uhrich St. The event is a fundraiser for the Uhrichsville Clay Museum.

The cost is a $16 donation per person.

There will also be disc jockey Jim Kelly, a 50-50 drawing and a silent auction.

Round and square dance set

A round and square dance at the Progressive Valley Grange, County Road, 93, Coshocton County, will be March 17 from 8 to 11 p.m.

Country Boys Band with Linn Mizer as caller will perform.

Admission is $5 for those 10 years and older.

There will be cake walks and a food stand will be available.

For directions, take County Road 93 exit near Unusual Junction on US 36 and head north on County Road 93. Grange is on he right, just south of County Road 2.

Public is invited.

Ladies Night Out set

WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Janusian Club of West Lafayette, a civic-minded organization, will have its annual Ladies Night Out Card Party and Style Show on Thursday, March 22 at the Ridgewood Middle School.

The buffet will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., continuing with silent auction, door prizes, bingo, cards, 50/50, raffle for a television, and the famous Style Show.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $10, prior sale.

NEW PHILADELPHIA -- The Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities Service and Support Center will have a TuscoBus Board of Trustees meeting on March 14 at 12:30 p.m.

Trivia night set

Newcomerstown Public Library will be hosting another trivia night. Gather a group of 2 to 6 adults and come join them for a fun evening on Friday, April 13 at 7 p.m. This time around there will be eight rounds of ten questions to challenge your knowledge. More computer classes offered

The Newcomerstown Public Library will be hosting one more basic computer class. The class will take place in the Library Annex on April 16 through April 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. each day. This class is only open to people who have not taken it previously.

Library board to meet

Regular meetings of the Newcomerstown Public Library Board of Trustees are the second Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Library Annex.

Projects sought for community service

COPS (Community Outreach Project) is hoping to help Newcomerstown area residents with home repair and maintenance.

Unfortunately, they are not able to do lawn care on a regular basis, but they are looking to help people make minor home repairs in their homes.

They are willing to do inside repairs during the winter months.

Christ's Kitchen

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

The meal is free but donations are accepted.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off

Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
