Newcomerstown Library has metal shelving that we would like to have hauled away.

It is free to anyone who wants to have it for scrap and is able to remove it.

Water

department to close for lunch

The Newcomerstown Water Department, located at 777 E. State St., Newcomerstown, will be closing for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to noon beginning Feb. 1. It is on a four-month temporary basis, according to the Newcomerstown Public Affairs.

Therefore, the office will be open to the public 8 to 11:30 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m.

Board of Public Affairs meeting

The Newcomerstown Board of Public Affairs' re-organizational meeting scheduled for Monday, Jan. 13 has been changed to Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 4 p.m. in the blue room of the Water Department.

A regular meeting will follow.

TOPS meets on Tuesdays

TOPS, Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, Chapter 2227, in Newcomerstown, has meetings each Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the lobby of Christ United Methodist Church, Newcomerstown.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off

Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.

Church to have cookie, candy sale

ISLETA -- Isleta United Methodist Church will have its eighth annual Christmas Cookie and Candy sale in the church basement on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 8 a.m. to noon.

There will be hundreds of delicious holiday cookies and candies to choose from, and you can make up your own assortment of favorites.

Price is $6 per pound.
