Newcomerstown Library staff gave an update on current and upcoming programs at the library, thanking the community for its support.
"The Newcomerstown Library wants to thank you for all your support," library staff said in a release. "Without you, we can't offer the books, movies, video games, hotspots, programs, and other services we provide. Thank you. So far, the Library's new Hotspot Lending Program is going well. If you have a Newcomerstown Library adult card that's in good standing, you can reserve a week of free, wireless Internet access. The devices allow you watch streaming movies, use Facebook, research online, work on homework, and more from the comfort of your home. If you already have mobile Internet access, the Library's hotspots can help you on your monthly data consumption. All for free.
"The Library has been reworking its magazine selection, so drop in and take a look. You can take home magazines too. Magazines range from titles like "All about Beer" and "Tattoo" and "Ohio Game and Fish" to "Birds and Blooms," "People," "Redbook," and "Better Homes and Gardens."
"This year's Patron Appreciation Day is a little different. This year, your Library is hosting a chili cook-off. If you want to enter your recipe, sign up at the Library's front desk. Prizes will be awarded for the best three recipes, as determined by the Library's panel of judges from around Newcomerstown. A chili bar with all the additions, hot dogs, and desserts will be provided, so come and enjoy a free lunch. Everything kicks off Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 1pm-4pm. Sign up your chili recipe by Sept. 22.
"Lego Club returns on the second Thursday, Sept. 14 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. And the popular Children's Bingo follows on the third Thursday, Sept. 21 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Free prizes for everyone who participates. Art Club draws near--Tuesday, Sept. 26 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. This open, drawing session lets you draw whatever you enjoy, and if you are stuck with a problem, Chris is on hand to help.
