The Crestview FFA Chapter had a successful week at the Ashland County Fair during the week of Sept. 16.
Members who showed included Peyton Eichelberger winning reserve grand champion with his market steer.
Elly Motter, who won Ashland County Fair Queen, took eighth in showmanship with her market hog, and took four dairy heifers and won second place with two, third place with another and fourth with the last.
Haley Henthorn won seventh in showmanship with her market hog.
Destiny LaFever won champion born and raised market steer, reserve grand champion market steer and was first in showmanship with her hog.
Mariah Maynard took 10th in her class with her hog.
Chapter has annual chicken barbecue
The Crestview FFA Chapter held its annual chicken barbecue on Friday, Sept. 14.
At the event, FFA members served the community by making chicken, baked potatoes, green beans and a brownie. The food is prepared throughout the week by the FFA members. Members washed and poked holes in potatoes, put sour cream and barbecue sauce in containers, prepared the brownies and helped cook the chicken.
Crestview alumni members also come out and helped prepare the chicken. A total of 888 meals were sold.
