Residents of the Tuscarawas Valley took shelter from the effects of the "Superstorm" (formerly Hurricane Sandy) when it swept through the area last week. It brought temperatures down to the low 40s, heavy rain and wind gusts up to 50 mph. The Newcomerstown Exempted Village School District had a two-hour delay Oct. 30 so that students could safely get to school.
