On Oct. 23, Newcomerstown Middle School students participated in the Cystic Fibrosis Walk as a PACCT event during their Related Arts classes. This year, a total of $462 was raised for this worthy cause. The eighth grade students will be rewarded with a dance, since their class brought in the most money, thanks in large part to eighth grade student Carra Popadak. Popadak, daughter of Michael and Rhonda Popadak of Newcomerstown, was the top fundraiser again this year, with a total of $165. In fact, Carra has been the top money raiser for this event three years in a row, bringing in $60 as a sixth grader, $150 in the seventh grade, and $165 this year, for a grand total of $375. It's obvious that Carra works hard to bring in donations for this event, for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She said she does it for her cousin, and everyone else who suffers with this disease.
