KIMBOLTON -- A Newcomerstown area man succumbed Friday (Feb. 15) as the result of injuries suffered in a crash on Old 21 Road in northern Guernsey County.

Succumbing was Craig A. Hursey, 30.

At 6:36 p.m., a caller reporting the crash said there was an unresponsive male not breathing.

Deputies and the Liberty Community emergency squad were dispatched and, upon arriving, began administering cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.

Mr. Hursey was taken to Southeastern Med where he was pronounced dead.

Guernsey County Sheriff Mike McCauley said Hursey's vehicle was traveling on Old 21 when it went left of center, swerved and went off the right side of the road where it struck a tree.

The crash occurred in a sharp curve in the area near 74611 Old 21 Road. That is north of New Salem and about a mile south of the intersection of Johnson Run Road.
