The Newcomerstown Middle School Student Council asked students and staff to donate valentine cards to hand out to the patients and staff at Riverside Nursing Home in Newcomerstown.
Each advisory teacher was assigned 5-6 patients for their class to address valentines to this past week, and then a group of the student council members went on Valentine's Day to distribute the cards to the patients and staff as a community outreach project.
Special thanks to Judy West for volunteering to drive our students to and from the nursing home. This project was a great way for our students to show true character by reaching out to others, and it was obvious how much those who received the gift of cards and seeing the children meant to them.
It also touched the hearts of some of our student council members more than they had anticipated it would.
