Dover Public Library announces Money Mondays series

The Dover Public Library will offer a series of financial literacy programs called Money Mondays beginning Monday, Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m. Presented by Dennis Lint, financial advisor at Edward Jones, each Money Monday program will focus on a different financial topic. Programs are free to the public. Upcoming dates and topics are as follows:

January 16: Leave It, Move It, Roll It, Take It: Know Your Employer Retirement Plan Options Options for what to do with money from a previous employer-sponsored plan -- pros and cons of taking a lump sum, leaving assets in a plan or moving to another plan, rolling over to a traditional or Roth IRA or receiving annuity payments from a pension.

February 20: Standing Guard: Protect What You've Worked For (Retirees) Shares strategies designed to help guard valuable assets and protect pre- and post-retirement income. Discusses impact of longevity, withdrawal strategies, anticipating rising costs, reviewing insurance/LTC protection, and healthcare cost concerns.

March 20: Outlook & Opportunities: Prepping Your Portfolio Investment strategy and market commentary. Updated 4 times per year. More of a current events piece

April 17: Stocks: The Nuts and Bolts Seminar Teaches basic information to help investors evaluate if stocks fit into their overall strategy. Discusses common versus preferred stock, dividends, investment strategy and different ways to own stock.
