Marcus Schlabach, a senior in the Outdoor Power Equipment program, is Buckeye Career Center's high school student of the month. According to Robin Sundheimer, his Chemistry teacher who nominated him, "Marcus is a very polite and personable student. He gets along well with everyone. He is hard working and always comes prepared to work hard. He does very well at being responsible for his own learning and always makes up his work quickly. He never hesitates to ask for help to make sure that he fully understands a topic." He is the treasurer for the BCC SkillsUSA club and last year competed at the state SkillsUSA competition. He recently helped start the bowling club (team) at Garaway High School and is employed at Pro Core Power Equipment. Upon graduation, he plans to go to the Power Sports Institute (PSI) in Cleveland. He would eventually like to open his own shop and open his own trails. He is the son of Keith and Angie Schlabach of Stonecreek.

Buckeye Career Center has named Anthony Materna of New Philadelphia as the Adult Education Student of the Month. He is in the Heavy Equipment/CDL A program. He is currently self-employed as a dump truck hauler/excavator and is taking the class to gain experience and knowledge in his career field as he obtains his class A CDL license. Anthony currently lives in New Philadelphia and attends New Pointe Community Church. In his spare time, he is training his niece in boxing and his nephew in wrestling.
