Newcomerstown alumni are very special. They appear to have formed close bonds of friendship that prove to be lasting. Classmates from numerous classes gather monthly at various locations to reminisce and catch up on the lives of their school chums. Friends that were, in some way or another, a part of each other's lives as they grew and moved from a period of adolescence to adulthood.
This week alone, the Class of 1957 held their monthly luncheon at Dick's Place, Newcomerstown, on Tuesday, March 7 and the Class of 1960 was at April's Country Kitch'n, Newcomerstown, Wednesday, March 8.
The classes of 1956 and 1958 were adventurous and took short road trips on Thursday, March 9 when the Class of 1956 traveled to Tents of Grace in Gnadenhutten, and the Class of 1958 went to English Ivy Restaurant in Coshocton.
The Class of 1951 is currently scheduled to meet for lunch at April's Country Kitch'n on Wednesday, March 15, and the Class of 1960's next luncheon will be at Ravens Glen, Wednesday, April 12, at noon.
In addition to high school alumni groups, some Newcomerstown work groups and retirees remain close and have monthly get-togethers too, such as Kurz-Kasch retirees who also had their monthly luncheon Wednesday, March 8 at April's Country Kitch'n.
