Two Newcomerstown residents have been recognized as students of the month for March at Buckeye Career Center. Brent Bryant, a senior Auto Collision student, received the high school award and Mark Grewell, a Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) student received the adult education honor.

Grewell, who is technically retired, stated he chose to take the program because "he wasn't really ready to retire." He belongs to several social clubs and is currently wrapping up his term as president of a credit union. He has started his own business and plans to work on making it a success.

Bryant was nominated by his Language Arts teacher Aimee Brown. "He is one of those students that works hard to get everything done so when he is gone for competition, he misses nothing. He is proud of the work he does in his lab, and is truly the epitome of being Buckeye Proud," said Brown. Bryant is the son of Bill Bryant and Kim Bryant. He works at Paul's Body Shop and is a member of the Church of New Hope. Bryant participates in Skills USA and plans to continue working in the auto collision field after he graduates high school.

Buckeye Career Center honors two students each month at the Board of Education meeting, which was held Tuesday evening. They also receive keepsake photo banners.
