NEW PHILADELPHIA -- More than 200 teenagers will converge on First Baptist Church at 878 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, to participate in "Remedy," a winter rally that will be held Thursday, Jan. 1 through Saturday, Jan. 3.
The rally is being hosted by 180, First Baptist's teen ministry headed by Brian Stuchul. Area youth and youth groups interested in participating in "Remedy" can contact Stuchul at First Baptist Church, (330) 339-1141, ext. 310.
Among those attending Remedy will be youth groups from Jackson, Mich., and Columbus. They will be staying with host families who attend First Baptist Church.
"We are using the event as a spring board for personal ministry and evangelism," Stuchal said. "My prayer for students, who already have a relationship with Christ, is that they will be challenged to go back to their school with a renewed sense of passion for reaching out to those who are far from God, and that they would share the 'Remedy' with the world around them as they point others to Christ."
Most of the events will take place in the 180 Building at Heritage Square Plaza at 515 Union Ave., Dover. The 16,000-square-foot facility features a 300-seat auditorium. It is equipped with carpet ball, sumo suits, Dance Dance Revolution, 16 player Halo system-link, eight network PCs for gaming, ping pong, air hockey, Four Square, mini-basketball and much more.
Cost is $30 per participant, plus money for lunch on Friday, Jan. 2. Each group is responsible for its own traveling to and from the rally and outside events.
