NEWCOMERSTOWN --The Newcomerstown Public Library will host the 2009 Newcomerstown Farmers Market beginning Friday, May 22 and running through Friday, Oct. 9. The market will take place in the library parking lot on Main Street. The parking lot will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the market. Market hours will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The purpose of the market is to promote local agriculture and locally produced products for sale to the public. Vendors must grow, raise or make what they sell.
There is no fee for vendors to participate in the Farmers Market, but a signed vendor application is required. No live animals may be sold at the market. Vendors are responsible for complying with all federal, state and local laws that apply to their product.
Complete rules and vendor applications are available at the main desk at Newcomerstown Public Library located at 123 E. Main St., Newcomerstown. After May 6, a printable version of the vendor rules and application will be available on the Library's Web site at www.newcomerstownlibrary.org.
