NERS car show, chicken barbecue
The Newcomerstown Fire Department's annual chicken barbecue and car show will be Saturday, July 4 with car registration being taken until noon. There is a $10 registration fee. Chicken dinners, which costs $7, will be served from noon to 6 p.m. at the David Barber Civic Center, Newcomerstown.

Relay For Life
The Newcomerstown Relay For Life event will be Friday, June 19 through Saturday, June 20 at Lee Stadium, Newcomerstown. For information, call Helene Moncman at 1-888-227-6446, ext. 2201.
Newcomerstown Friends of the Library book sales will be on the second and fourth Friday of the month during the summer months. The hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to coincide with the Farmers Market.
Copies of the 2009 Newcomerstown High School graduation ceremony are currently available at the Newcomerstown High School office. They are $15 each and proceeds will go to purchase equipment for the Multi-Media class at the high school.

Relay parade entries sought
Entries are being sought for the Newcomerstown Relay For Life Parade on Friday, June 19. Line-up will begin at 5 p.m. at Lee Stadium. Anyone is welcome to enter. For information or to register, call Bonnie Johnson at 498-6644.
There will be a craft show on Saturday, July 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 411 Nugent St., Newcomerstown (rear).
Several area crafters have gotten together to put on a holiday craft show.
The show is right next to the NERS car show and chicken barbecue.

Breakfast, flea market planned
STONE CREEK -- The Jefferson Grange will have pancake and sausage breakfast on June 27 from 8 to 11 a.m. A free-will donation is welcome.
Also that day, there will be a flea market at the former Jefferson Grange building from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce's annual golf outing will be Wednesday, July 29 at Hickory Flats Golf Course with registration at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Four-man teams are needed at a cost of $200 as well as hole sponsors for $50 each. Cy Young Days
Newcomerstown's Cy Young Days Festival is scheduled for June 26-28 in the village. A new queen's competition will be June 25.
WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Hometown Festival in West Lafayette will be Friday, Aug. 7 through Saturday, Aug. 8 with the theme of "Childhood Memories."

Sonshine Boxes drop-off
Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newcomerstown is a collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
