DOVER -- The Tuscarawas Valley Kennel Club, along with many corporate sponsors, are planning its eighth annual "Strut Your Mutt" event on Saturday, July 24 at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds in Dover.
Anyone who has a dog of any kind, shape or size is invited as well as the public who is interested in just watching. The event will take place rain or shine with free gate admission.
Registration will begin for the Fun Day at 9:30 a.m. The "Doggie" parade will "embark" at 10 a.m. Three of the canine doggie contests, the most barks, the largest and smallest dog and the pet/owner look-a-like will run from 11 to 11:30 a.m. The best trick or talent and the best costume contest will take place right after the auction.
Running throughout the day for participation will be a small Rally-O and agility course, a Doggie IQ test and dog/handler challenges.
There is a junior divisions for participants 12 and under and a senior division for participants that are 13 and over; cost of entry is $10 for each dog.
Again, Cronebaugh Auction Services Ltd. will be auctioning off the dog-related and non-dog-related items from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
There will also be informational tables, rescue organizations, lots of raffles, including a mystery raffle.
