Julie Adele Mortine and Mark Reed were married Aug. 1, 2009, in the Formal Gardens of Miami University, Oxford, OH. Rev. Dr. Long B. Tran, brother of the bride, performed the 2 p.m. marriage ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mark and Y Pham Mortine, Oxford, and the groom is the son of Holly Reed, Cleveland. Wayne and Bonnie Mortine, Newcomerstown, are the bride's grandparents.

Maid of honor was Nathalie Mortine, and matron of honor was Linh Tran, both sisters of the bride. Bridal attendants included the bride's cousin Thanh Pham, Amy Corbett, Sara Shillitto, and the bride's niece Ayo Barnes.

Flower girl was Sophia Kostik, niece of the groom.

Best man was Christopher Hoskin, and groomsmen were Jay Mendyka, the groom's cousin Christopher Konovaliz, Christian Moorma and Sean Sweeney.

Ring bearer was Timothy Raab, cousin of the groom.

The bride graduated from Talawanda High School in 1996 and from The Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in 2001 and her master's degree in 2002. She is employed with Santa Susana High School for the Performing Arts in Simi Valley, CA.

The groom graduated in 1991 from Normandy High School. He received his bachelor of science degree from The Ohio State University in 1998. He is employed with the City of Santa Barbara as manager of the Municipal Golf Course.

The couple resides in Carpinteria, CA.
