Jack E. Welsch and Patricia L. "Pat" (Shaw) Welsch will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
They will celebrate this special day with their family at a private dinner party.
Jack Welsch and Pat Shaw were married on Aug. 7, 1948, in the First Presbyterian Church, Newcomerstown, by the Rev. Donald Doss. Jack's best man was Sam Ridgeway and Pat's maid of honor was Joanne Atkinson Littlefield. Jack retired from American Electric Power. He spent 20 years working as a line crewman and an additional 20 years in management and supervision of operations. His career with AEP took Jack, Pat, and their family to Newcomerstown, New Philadelphia, Dennison and St. Clairsville, where he supervised operations in Belmont, Noble, and Monroe counties.
Pat worked at Kurz-Kasch, Newcomerstown, for a few years as well as spending her entire adult life as a homemaker.
Celebrating this special day with Jack and Pat will be their children, daughter, Terri J. Wright, Strasburg; son, Jack T. and wife, Iris M. Welsch, Mad.ison, Va.; and daughter, Jai K. Welsch and her companion, John C. Ourant, Newcomerstown. The rest of their family includes three grandsons and three granddaughters, Seth T. Clark, Newcomerstown, Andrew J. Wright, Strasburg, and Jesse T. Welsch, Virginia Beach, and Rachel A. and husband Mark A. Strauss, Williamstown, W.Va., Lindsey E. and husband Jake Harvey, Strasburg, and Brooke N. Welsch and her fiance, Tony Blonde, Virginia Beach; five great grandchildren complete their family, Kaley E. Strauss, Allison J. Strauss, Joseph T. Strauss, and Jack E. Strauss, all of Williamstown, W.Va., and Dominic C. Wright, Strasburg.
Jack and Pat's special family member, their Bichon Frise, Bosco, completes the family.
