WEST LAFAYETTE -- Ridgewood High opened the season with a three-game sweep over visiting Sandy Valley in Inter-Valley Conference volleyball action.

The Lady Generals posted the win by scores of 25-1, 25-17 and 25-9 to give first-year coach Kayla Crozier her first career varsity coaching victory.

"The girls played hard, never let up and ran their plays with great communication tonight," Crozier said. "I'm very proud of how the girls came out and played tonight."

Erika Michael led RHS with 13 points, three aces, eight digs with 34 assists while Laura Crawford added 12 points, three aces, six kills and eight digs. Laura Frazee finished with seven kills and five points while Morgan McDorman contributed 10 digs and Amanda Lowery tallied 10 points, three kills and four blocks.


GNADENHUTTEN --Visiting Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy got by Indian Valley in four sets by scores of 25-14, 18-25, 25-19 and 25-9 in Principal's Athletic Conference action.

Leading the Lady Royals (1-2, 1-1 PAC) at the net was Morgan Lowenkamp with 10 kills, while Taylor Headley scored 11 points, added eight kills and had 22 digs. Jenna Cook added 10 points.

For Indian Valley (1-3, 1-1 PAC), Harlie Crouse had six points 15 digs; Ashley Reynolds slammed 15 kills, scored five points and recorded 15 digs; and Sydney Kandray dished out 13 assists and had 23 digs.


EAST CANTON -- Visiting Ridgewood rolled to a three-set sweep of the East Canton Lady Astros by scores of 25-13, 25-12 and 25-13.

Leading the Lady Generals (2-0) was Erika Michael with 17 points, including four aces and she also handed out 28 assists. Laura Frazee added nine points and hammered 11 kills to go with three blocks. Laura Crawford added 11 points, five kills and nine digs, while Allie Dobson had five kills and three blocks and Amanda Lowery added seven stops and seven blocks. Morgan Mcdorman had 10 digs.

"The Lady Generals found a win tonight and we are working to get better every game," Ridgewood coach Kayla Crozier said. "We are looking forward to Danville on Tuesday."


STRASBURG -- After spotting visiting Newcomerstown a 25-17 win in the opening set, Strasburg High reeled off three straight wins by scores of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-23 to claim in the Inter-Valley Conference match.

For the Lady Tigers, Savanah Jones slammed 13 kills with four blocks and added eight digs. Lauren Allensworth added seven stops with one dig and three service aces, while Tea Burlingame added 18 digs and a kill. Rachel McGrath dished out 41 assists and a service ace, Makinze McGaha added two aces, two digs, three kills and a block. Sierra Bonifant tacked on 11 kills, five digs and a service ace and Kim Addy added four kills and two digs.

No stats were provided for the Lady Trojans.
