Hursey receives scholarship
WILMINGTON -- Newcomerstown resident Mathew C. Hursey is the recipient of a $14,000 Academic Achievement Scholarship and a $1,000 Agriculture Department Scholarship to attend Wilmington College, where he plans to major in agronomy.
He will graduate in 2014 from Newcomerstown High School. His main activities and honors include: META church youth group, 4-H Buckhorn Tribe (nine years), Interact Youth Rotary Group, National Honor Society and Team One Mentoring (fourth graders).
Hursey is the son of Kip and Marjorie Hursey of Newcomerstown.
Other types of scholarships and award amounts are available from Wilmington College, a career-oriented liberal arts institution affiliated with the Society of Friends (Quakers). It is located in southwestern Ohio, approximately one hour from Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton. The Blue Ash branch campus serves a large number of non-traditional students.
