The Tuscarawas County Health Department has been selected as a recipient of an infant safe sleep mini-grant through Baby 1st Network.

The funds from this grant were used solely to purchase giveaways (car seats, pack 'n plays, infant grooming kits, wearable blankets, sound machines, thermometer, diapers, and wipes) for a Community Baby Shower.

The free Community Baby Shower is being held at the New Philadelphia Elks on July 29 from 12-3pm. This event is for anyone in Tuscarawas County who is expecting a baby or has recently had a baby.

The focus of the baby shower is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) risk reduction and infant safe sleep promotion. Many community partners have donated time and resources to make this event both fun and educational. The goal with this event is to send guests home with the knowledge and confidence to keep their babies as safe and healthy as possible, along with increased awareness about the community resources available to them.

Guests who would like to attend must pre-register by calling Nicole Dorsey at 330-343-5555 Ext. 111.

A huge thank you goes out to those who have made donations (as of July 13):
