Interstate 77 nighttime restrictions at Stone Creek continue

Published:

Interstate 77 nighttime restrictions at Stone Creek continue STONE CREEK -- Motorists may experience nighttime delays on Interstate 77 at the Stone Creek exit in Tuscarawas County through this week as part of the $2.7 million State Route 751 bridge replacement project over the highway. Night work began Monday, July 26 to remove the structure over the highway and will continue through 6 a.m. Friday morning, Aug. 13. Between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday, both north and southbound lanes of I-77 are being rerouted from the mainline of the interstate intermittently via the on and off ramps, while the contractor safely removes the bridge beams. Motorists should use an alternate route, if possible, to avoid delays. Officials also urge motorists, who do have to travel this area during this work, to watch for stopped traffic. ODOT's contractor for this project is Dennison Bridge Inc., from Dennison, and the completion date is June 15, 2011.
