Students enjoy school fair

The Newcomerstown Teachers Association and Project Hope sponsored this year's Newcomerstown Schools' Back to School Fair last Tuesday at the West Elementary School. Students, along with their parents or guardians, were able to visit different agencies that provide services in the community, as well receive school supplies and free haircuts by local stylists. Here, Dominic Barry, 7, receives a haircut from Angie Hlad, a third grade special education teacher at West School who is also a licensed cosmetologist.

Mya Cole, an 11-year old West Elementary student, tries her luck at choosing the correct healthy snacks in a pile of healthy and non-healthy snacks during the Newcomerstown Schools' Back to School Fair last Tuesday, while Linda Krupa of the OSU Extension looks on. More than 300 students and family members attended this first-ever school fair which was for pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students in the Newcomerstown school district.
