Christmas parade set
The Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce and parade co-chairpersons Bonnie Johnson and Jane Wilson are announcing the annual Newcomerstown Christmas Parade through downtown Newcomerstown on Saturday, Nov. 24.
Line-up starts at 4 p.m. and the parade will move at 5 p.m. starting at Cy Young Park, Newocmerstown.
Santa will be at the East School immediately following the parade to hand out treats.
Refreshments will also be available.
Also, a mailbox is available at Baker's IGA for letters to be sent to the North Pole. Be sure to put a return address on the letter for Santa to reply.

Toys for Local Tots donations
Monetary donations are being sought for the Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce's annual Toys for Local Tots program.
Last year, the organization was able to give holiday gifts to some 200 children in the Newcomerstown area.
Donations may be dropped off at the Huntington National Bank or mailed to the Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 456, Newcomerstown, OH 43832.
Toys for Local Tots applications
Applications are still being accepted until Nov. 30 for children in the Newcomerstown Exempted Village School District for the Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce's annual Toys for Local Tots program.
Applications are available at the Dale Gress Real Estate office in Newcomerstown and at the Newcomerstown News.
Ladies Night Out set
Ladies Night Out and Christmas Shopping Extravaganza is set for Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church, 648 Oak St., Newcomerstown. All proceeds to go to the Newcomerstown Relay For Life.
Admission is $1. Each paid admission is entered into a drawing for door prizes.
More than 30 vendors will be on-hand with cash and carry specials. They will also have a food stand and a 50-50 raffle.

New DVDs at library
New DVDs are rolling in to Newcomerstown Public Library. A total of 119 new movies were recently ordered. Stop in to see what's new to view.
Community Thanksgiving meal set
BALTIC -- The fourth annual Baltic Community Thanksgiving meal will be Saturday, Nov. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Baltic Elementary School.
Traditional turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, cranberry salad, rolls, and desert will the menu for this holiday meal.
Carry-outs available. Some local delivery is possible. Call 330-897-6855 and leave name and address if you need delivery.
The meal is free. However, if you would like to give, food donations will go to the Homeless Shelter of Tuscarawas County, and money donations will go to Pirate Power Packs to help give food to Baltic students on the weekends.
Blood drive planned
A blood drive is set for Wednesday, Nov. 28 from 1 to 6 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 121 S. College St., Newcmerstown.

Holiday market planned
Newcomerstown Public Library is seeking vendors to set up for its holiday market on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
They ask that whatever you bring to sell is crafted, grown, produced by the vendor. There is a limited number of tables available.

TuscoBus Board meeting
NEW PHILADELPHIA -- The TuscoBus Board of Trustees will meet Nov. 14 at 12:30 p.m. at the Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Service and Support Center, 610 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia.
Quilting in museum
The Newcomerstown Quilting Bees will be working on the Community Quilt in the Temperance Tavern Museum on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. All are welcome to help. For information, call Gladys Hinds at 498-6240.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off
Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
