Life is beginning to return to our Main Street. Fit4U Nutrition and Fit4U Fitness are now in their new location, Coshocton Driving Training School moved into the square, The Odd Box, in the old Lawler Pharmacy space, is for avid gamers, Make It Mine Designs by Michele is now located in the old Treadwell's/Philips space, is for anyone who loves and appreciates beautiful crafts, and Main Street Grill has opened at 211 W. Main St. These businesses have infused the downtown area with a much-needed breath of fresh air.

Main Street Grill opened Nov. 29, 2016, with a soft opening. The grill is owned and operated by Angie and Chuck Hamilton of Newcomerstown. Angie said the soft opening with not much fanfare was so that any kinks in the business could be worked out to streamline the business. Their goals of efficient service, friendly atmosphere, and delicious food seem to have already been met. Many locals still do not know they are there, but those that have discovered Main Street Grill are turning into repeat customers.

Angie does all of the cooking in this family-run business and her family does everything they can to help.

Main Street Grill is Angie's first restaurant but she has plenty of restaurant experience from waitressing, managing, and cooking. Prior to opening, she was a proud part of Newcomerstown's EMS for 14 years.

Initially, she and her husband had planned to operate a food wagon. During a short delay in starting that business, they heard that the location on Main Street was available. Angie said, "One day we had an idea and then everything just seemed to fall into place. We opened right after Thanksgiving, and then we had the Christmas holidays and cold weather. But it's all been pretty good."

Angie has noticed that there are already menu favorites. She said that for some reason people love the Main Street Club sandwich and the rising popularity of the Piggy Fries. FYI - Piggy Fries are fresh cut fries topped with pulled pork, cole slaw, BBQ sauce, and cheese.

Main Street Grill's menu has many standard food items including homemade meatloaf, grilled chicken breast, spaghetti and meat sauce, chicken tenders, popcorn shrimp, hot beef, fishtail dinner, and liver and onions.

There is also an extensive burger and sandwich menu, a breakfast menu, a kids menu, and a number of other delicious items such as wings, soups, and salads.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, diners can enjoy amazing ribeye, New York strip, or fried catfish dinners beginning at 5 p.m. until sold out.

For this writer, particularly noticeable on the menu was Disco Fries, which are fresh cut fries topped with house brown gravy and fried cheddar cheese balls; now on my bucket list.

Main Street Grill is located at 211 W. Main St. and is open from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. Monday-Saturday and reopening for dinner 5-9 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday. The grill is closed on Sundays but that may change in April.

Call Angie or Chuck at 740-492-4059 for more information.
