Perfect in Memory: A Son's Tribute to His Mother
The Dover Public Library will welcome author Rick Niece on Thursday, May 25th at 6:30PM as the May featured author in the Nights at the Round Table Series. Rick will discuss his third and final volume in the award-winning "Fanfare for a Hometown" series.
"Perfect in Memory" is based on Niece's life growing up in the small town of DeGraff, Ohio. A celebration of the life of Niece's beloved mother, "Perfect in Memory, has ranked #1 on Amazon Kindle for memoirs and #9 on Amazon for books on parenting boys. The book recently received the 2017 Reader Views Literary Award.
"Perfect in Memory" honors the lasting impact of childhood friends and family, while memorializing the effect small towns have on the children they help to raise. "The roles of a family are often connected by the strength and endurance of one person. In our case, that person was our mother, Dortha Jean "Dodie," says Niece. "It is a rare life that is perfect, but it is a blessed life that is perfect in memory."
Copies of Rick's books will be available for purchase and signing following his presentation. In further tribute to his mother, Niece is partnering with Arkansas Hospice to donate one dollar from the sale of each book to hospice, an organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those facing serious illness and loss.
This program is free and open to the public. The Dover Public Library is located at 525 N Walnut Street, directly across from Dover High School. Please call the library at 330-343-6123 to register.
