Port Washington council approves insurance policy

PORT WASHINGTON -- The Port Washington Village Council recently approved renewing an insurance policy with Whitaker-Myer Agency at an annual rate of $4,678.

The rate reflects an increase of $389 from the previous policy.

Council also approved splitting property lots for residents Harold and Laura Riddle.

In other news:

Reviewed the April police department report with four traffic stops and 25 complaints handled by officers. Council also learned the new police cruiser has been delivered.

Set Memorial Day services at 12 p.m. on May 29 with the parade to follow.

Mayor Gardner will attend a Safe Route Plan meeting on June 9 at Indian Valley High School.

First reading for Resolution 05-2017 addressing the mosquito spraying agreement with the Tuscarawas County Health District at a cost of $3.50 per minute.

First reading on Resolution 06-2017 for opposing of centralization of income tax collection.

Approved the purchase of 28 sheets of plywood for the third floor ceiling repair in the Historical Society Building at an approximate cost of $340.
