Who owns Tuscarawas County?
Thousands of people have a piece of it, and they are listed in the new plat book published by Mapping Solutions for the Tuscarawas County 4-H Program.
The 2017 book is available for purchase for $20 at the Tuscarawas County office of Ohio State University Extension, 419 16th Street SW in New Philadelphia, 330-339-2337, or the Tuscarawas County Map Office, 125 E. High Ave. in New Philadelphia, 330-365-3303.
The book includes the new enhanced LiDAR aerial view maps opposite the landownership map pages. Enhanced LiDAR is a 3D effect showing the actual topography of the land.
The 110-page spiral-bound book features township and range maps of Tuscarawas County. These maps include the property boundaries for all rural parcels within the township, the name of the owner, and the number of acres owned. There is also a handy landowner index for easy cross referencing.
In this new edition, you will find information regarding the Tuscarawas County 4-H Program and a brief history of OSU Extension, a county road map with index and municipality maps of Bolivar, Dover, New Philadelphia, Uhrichsville, Dennison, Gnadenhutten, Newcomerstown, Strasburg and Sugarcreek.
Another new feature in the 2017 publication is an index of the initialed parcels for easy reference. There is also an explanation of the public land survey system.
