Those interested in registering for Dress-A-Child will be required to provide photo ID and proof of income. Interviews cannot be conducted without those pieces of information. Federal poverty guidelines, as submitted by the Department of Jobs and Family Services, will determine qualification for the program. Sole Purpose will have representation at the registration sites.

Shopping dates will occur during the last week of July and into August this year. Marshall's has been added to sites where shopping will occur. Kohl's will be available for shopping on two dates and WalMart on July 25th. More information about shopping dates and times will be announced soon.

Dress-A-Child continues to be solely organized and operated by volunteers. One hundred percent of the money raised is used for shopping for those registered for the program. Last year, Dress-A-Child provided 1388 children with a voucher worth $65.00 which could be used to purchase new school clothing. That voucher amount was considerably less than the past six year's vouchers which ranged from $70 to $87.00. Dress-A-Child volunteers are hoping to be able to provide larger vouchers again this year.

Sole Purpose, a youth initiated program based out of Dover First Moravian Church, has set their 2017 goal as being able to provide shoes for all Tuscarawas County school children in grades K-5. Sole Purpose was founded in 2011. In 2014, Sole Purpose provided $20.00 shoe vouchers to 97 students in grades K-5 in the Dover City Schools. In 2015, New Philadelphia schools were added and Sole Purpose provided 283 vouchers. During the 2016 program, 714 vouchers were provided. Sole Purpose partnered with Dress-A-Child in 2014 in order that the registration process could be streamlined in providing both new school clothing and new shoes for school.
