The 2017 Tuscarawas County 4-H Demonstration Contest was held on June 22 at Broadway United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia. The results of the contest winners, 4-H clubs and demonstration title.
Intermediate Division (age 11-13, as of Jan. 1):
1st Place Maddie Troyer and Marhin Chismar of Dover, 4-H Pioneers, "M&M Show How to Update Your Wardrobe," (Ohio State Fair nominee).
2nd Place Norah Chismar and Sophie Troyer of Dover, 4-H Pioneers, "GirlGet Outside."
3rd Place Paige Milburn and Alyssa Renicker of Dover, St. John's 4-H'ers, "Hot to Make Bath Bombs with Paige and Alyssa."
Intermediate Division (age 11-13)
1st Place Ryan Vogel of Stone Creek, 4-H Farmers and Friends, "It's a Wrap!," (Ohio State Fair nominee).
2nd Place John Nay of Port Washington, Buckhorn Tribe, "What's Your Beef: Understanding the Choices," (Ohio State Fair nominee).
3rd Place Anna Cox of Mineral City, Atwood Lakers, "Fun with Fairies."
4th Place Anastacia Bloom of Uhrichsville, Stillwater Korn Kids, "Everything But the Oink!"
Senior Division - Individuals (age 14 and over)
1st Place Jonah McGlumphy of Stone Creek, Stone Creek Peas and Carrots, "Rocking the Rubik's" (Ohio State Fair nominee).
2nd Place Nikki Egler of Baltic, New Horizons, "What Just One Cigarette Can Do To Your Lungs" (Ohio State Fair alternate).
3rd Place Barbi Boyd of Mineral City, Atwood Lakers, "3, 2, 1, Doggy!"
4th Place Bobby Abel of Tuscarawas, T-County Critters, "Seriously! A Blast with Brass!"
Those with Ohio State Fair nominee or alternate next to them will compete at the Ohio State Fair in Columbus on Aug. 2-3.
Trophies for the contest were donated by the Tuscarawas County 4-H Committee. Judges were Paige Andrews, Patty Maag, Jenny Strickler and Teri Stein.
