KIMBOLTON -- A 5-year-old near drowning victim was reportedly flown by medical helicopter to an undisclosed hospital for further treatment after initially being treated at Southeastern Med in Cambridge last week.
The child was reportedly swimming at a pool at the Rocky Fork Resort on Broadhead Road in northern Guernsey County when she stopped breathing while under water.
According to a dispatch activity log at the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office, the child was not breathing when she was pulled from the pool. The caller reported CPR was being administered at the scene.
Emergency responders from Newcomerstown EMS, Liberty Community Volunteer Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the scene at 3:03 p.m.
A deputy at the scene reported the child had resumed breathing prior to being transported to the hospital. She was transported to Southeastern Med by Newcomerstown EMS.
A nursing supervisor at the Cambridge hospital reported the girl was treated in the emergency department and later transferred to another hospital. The name of the hospital where she was transferred was not available prior to press time.
Family who accompanied the girl to Southeastern Med were transported back to the Rocky Fork Resort by local law enforcement personnel.
The incident remained under investigation by authorities.
