Port council donates to window project

PORT WASHINGTON -- Village council met July 5 and agreed to donate $3,000 to the Port Washington Historical Society to complete the storm window replacement project. The Historical Society has previously received partial funding for this project through local foundations and fund raisers.

In other action, Port Washington council:

*Approval was given to Tax Administrator Donna Meek to attend a Income Tax Seminar at a cost of $200.

*Heard that the Thunder Valley Pioneers 4-H Group are completing a table project (sanding tops and repainting) at the park shelter house. The administration expressed gratitude to 4-H Leader Tom Cunningham and the 4-H Group for their thoughtfulness and donation.

*Was reported that the Delaware Fire Dept. has received a total of $500,476 from various grants during the period of 1988-2017.

*Approved Resolution 11-2017 to proceed with the paving project through the Community Block Grant Program with the village's share to be $22,506.83.

*Approved Resolution 12-2017 for amending appropriations.

*Passed Resolution 13-2017 Adopting the Tuscarawas County 2017 Hazard Mitigation Plan

*Reviewed June 2017 Police Dept. Report with a total of 23 complaints and 6 traffic citations

*Reviewed and approved the 2nd Quarter Report for Municipal Income Tax, with a total received to date of $67,449.64.
