Don Keating of Newcomerstown is adding features to his Ohio Weather Facebook page.

Prior to the end of July, Keating hopes to be able to broadcast live from his home in Newcomerstown when active or severe weather is in Ohio.

"I find it of the utmost of importance for the general public to be in the loop and on top of information when it is available, in particular severe weather information," said Keating. "The National Weather Service has made drastic improvements on the amount of time they can give the public before the formation of a tornado or other severe weather. My position would be to use the tools available on my own personal computers to push that timely information out there, as quickly as possible."

Keating now provides a video-cast four days a week available on his Ohio Weather Facebook page, as well as his You Tube channel and on The Daily Jeffersonian and Newcomerstown NEWS websites. He also pushes as many severe weather watches, warnings and advisories as possible when they are available and he is available to push the information out.

Keating also notes that his personal weather station sends data from his home to the internet.

That information may be accessed at www.ohiowx.com and by clicking the Weather Underground button on the upper left of his home page. He notes the weather station is a Davis Vantage Vue and has a temperature accuracy of + / -2 degrees Fahrenheit.
