Ragersville planning events

RAGERSVILLE -- The Community of Ragersville is inviting area residents to join in the annual Homecoming Festival, "Celebrating 188 Years," on Aug. 5-6.

Saturday Aug 5, at the Ragersville School grounds at 4:30 p.m. there will be a menu of barbecued pork, homemade chicken sandwiches, chicken noodle soup, homemade pies and ice cream. Try your hand at games, including bingo or luck of the draw with the 50/50 raffle. The kiddie tractor pull will be at 6 p.m. The annual wooden cheese wheel auction will be live at 7 p.m. Saturday. This is the ninth in a series of paintings by local artist Blaine Krebs featuring the Steiner Cheese House.

Saturday evening entertainment will be hosted by the Ragersville Historical Society 'on the square' with Badstone and a beer garden at 9 p.m.

Ragersville Businessmen's Association will round out the festivities by hosting their third annual Motorcycle Show on Sunday August 6, from 2 to 6 p.m.. The show is open to all makes and models; entry fee is $5 per bike. This judged show will include four classes and trophies to the top two in each class. The event will take place during the Annual Businessmen's Community Picnic at 4 p.m. on the Square in Downtown Ragersville. This fun filled event features all you can eat and drink, plus 50/50 drawing, Casino Tables, Corn Hole Tournament and Live Music.

12th Annual Car Show August 13

Ragersville Historical Society will host its 12th Annual Car & Power Show on Sunday Aug. 13, from 1 to 4 p.m. Cruisin Times Magazine rates the show #2 in Ohio!

This judged show awards 70 vehicles annually including; Best GM/Ford, Best Mopar, Best Street Rod, Best of Show and Best Rat Rod. Vehicles from 1990 and newer will be given separate awards. A separate auto show for original models dated 1900 through 1946 plus a Tractor Show is offered.

Registration begins at 11 a.m., cost is $10 per auto, tractor entries are free. The public is welcome at no charge and food and craft vendors will be available.

Ragersville Historical Society will be selling raffle tickets for a Husky Tool Chest during the Homecoming Weekend and the car show. The winners will be drawn at this event.

Proceeds from these events help maintain the Ragersville Historical Society property.
