Three conference teams win district titles

Not one, not two but three boys basketball teams in the Inter-Valley Conference captured Eastern District championships on Friday.

Both Division III crowns were won by IVC teams, with Hiland defeating Tuscarawas Valley, 60-45, in the only match-up where the conference wasn't assured of a winner while Garaway beat Sandy Valley, 54-46, in the other D-III final.

Malvern made it a sweep by defeating fellow IVC member Strasburg, 53-41, in the Division IV championship game.

At Dover, Hiland led 14-11 after one quarter and 25-15 at the half en route to its win over Tusky Valley.
