BERLIN -- It was a rough night for visiting Newcomerstown High as it suffered a 19-2 loss to Hiland in Inter-Valley Conference baseball action on Monday.

An eight-run third inning was enough to fuel the Hawks past the Trojans for the IVC win.

The Hawks out-hit the Trojans 14-3 paced by Mike Miller with three hits including a pair of doubles and RBIs followed by Tyson Ginrich who collected two hits including a triple and a game-high 3 RBIs.

George Brode led the way for Newcomerstown (1-5, 1-4 IVC) with a single and two RBIs.

Thurman Gibson suffered the loss for NHS with five walks and failing to record a strikeout while Damien Kandel hurled three inning for the Hawks with four Ks and avoided giving away any free passes.
