Hiland 10, Newcomerstown 4

BERLIN -- Host Hiland snapped a deadlock at four with four runs the fifth inning and added two insurance runs the sixth frame to capture a 10-4 Inter-Valley Conference win over the visiting Newcomerstown Lady Trojans Monday.

Nikki Keim picked up the win in the circle with seven strikeouts and four walks, while Raegan Smith suffered the loss fanning five and giving up six free passes.

Newcomerstown out hit the Lady Hawks 6-4 paced by catcher Maddie Fish with a double, while Leah Kellish added a pair of singles, but the Lady Hawks took advantage of seven errors by the Lady Trojans and six walks. Three of Hiland's four hits were doubles by Hannah Gerber, Ashley Weaver and catcher Bryn McVicker.

Garaway 17, Newcomerstown 0

NEWCOMERSTOWN -- Allison Luneborg turned in a dominating pitching performance Wednesday tossing a complete game no-hitter at host Newcomerstown High in the Lady Pirates 17-0 victory in Inter-Valley Conference softball action.

Luneborg chalked up an impressive 17 Ks without allowing a walk for a perfect game. Gabbi McPeek took the pitching loss for the Lady Trojans, working six innings with one strikeout and three walks.

Garaway gave Luneborg all the offensive support she would need with a five run first inning.

With the home loss, Newcomerstown slips to 1-7 overall and 0-5 in IVC play.

Ridgewood 4, Strasburg 3

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Thanks to a three-run home run off the bat of Autumn Brown, Ridgewood High picked up a key Inter-Valley Conference victory over Strasburg High by a final score of 3-2 in softball action on Wednesday.

"That was a huge home run by Autumn," offered Ridgewood coach Kirby Shivers. "That was a great win for us, Strasburg is always at the top of the IVC and it is great for the girl's confidence when you beat such a good program like Strasburg."

The Lady Tigers struck first in the fourth inning with a two-run home off the bat of Hannah Duff, but the Lady Generals responded with the three-run belt by Brown to claim the victory.

Sophomore Sydney Zinkon tossed another gem for Ridgewood earning the win, fanning three and allowing only one free pass.

Duff took the loss in the circle for Strasburg with eight Ks without recording a walk.

Sadie Wilson added a pair of singles for the Lady Generals.

Newcomerstown 5, Conotton Valley 3

BOWERSTON --Newcomerstown High picked up its second win of the season by defeating host Conotton Valley, 5-3, on Thursday.

Raegan Smith earned the pitching win for the Lady Trojans (2-8), striking out two and walking two. Kinsley Hendershot took the loss for Conotton Valley (3-8) with six Ks and one walk.

Kayla Gibson talllied two singles to lead Newcomerstown.

Lindsey Caldwell had two singles and two RBI and Alyssa Robinson had two singles for the Lady Rockets.

Ridgewood 5, Philo 4

DUNCAN FALLS -- Visiting Ridgewood High used a big blast from Autumn Brown to collect a 5-4 win over Philo High.

Trailing 4-2 entering the top of the fifth frame Brown slugged a three-run home run to lift the Lady Generals to the road victory. Sadie Wilson chipped in with a pair of singles with an RBI for Ridgewood.

Sydney Zinkon picked up the pitching win for RHS, tossing a complete game effort with five Ks and two walks.

Katie Pride took the pitching setback for the Lady Electrics and led the offense with two doubles and an RBI.

Coshocton 11, Newcomerstown 1

Coshocton 3, Newcomerstown 0

COSHOCTON -- Host Coshocton swept a twin-bill from the Newcomerstown by 11-1 and 3-0 scores on Saturday.

In the opener, Riley Conkle picked up the pitching win for Coshocton by striking out three and walking two, while Gabby McPeek absorbed the loss for Newcomerstown, fanning three and walking two.

Coshocton was paced by Conkle with two doubles while Kelsey Crown added a double and single.

In the second game, Erin Storcin picked up the win in the circle for Coshocton with nine strikeouts and three walks. Raegan Smith took the loss, fanning three and walking two.

Cheyenne McMullenn led Newcomerstown (2-10) with two singles.
