WEST LAFAYETTE -- Home cooking proved to be the perfect recipe for host Ridgewood High in Division IV Sectional baseball tournament action on Saturday with the Generals recording a 6-3 win over West Muskingum.

"I thought we played well today," RHS head coach Chad Lahna offered. "At this point in the season we're just looking to survive and advance to the next game and today we were able to do that."

A big four run second inning gave the Generals control early at 4-0, with RHS tacking on a pair of runs in the sixth to push the lead out to 6-0.

West Muskingum attempted to rally in the seventh frame, pushing across three runs to pull with 6-3 before the Generals snuffed out the comeback to take the victory.

Kolton Alexander worked six strong innings to collect the win on the mound for the Generals with five Ks and one walk. Senior Braeden Smith came on in the seventh to close out the RHS win.
