NEW PHILADELPHIA -- On Dec. 7, Big Brothers Big Sisters had the annual Christmas Party at the Skate Place in New Philadelphia. The participants of the program, including Bigs, Littles, and Waiting Littles were all invited to attend. The event was open to all five counties the agency serves.

Big Brothers Big Sisters would like to thank Wynne Smith and the Small Group at New Pointe Community Church in Dover for not only their monetary donation which funded the party, but also the planning and working of the entire event. The members of the small group also served as 'BIGS' to the waiting list children who attended. Several businesses around the community also donated food and other items to ensure the party's success. This year's party was hosted at the Skate Place in New Philadelphia with skating, a pizza and pasta dinner (which included pasta donated by Carbones of Dover, pizzas donated by Dominoes of Dover, as well as pizzas from Damon's All American Pizza Pie, East of Chicago, Pizza Hut, and Your Pizza Shop all of New Philadelphia), salad courtesy of Uncle Primos, Rolls provided by Bob Evans of Dover, and Cake from Litty's in New Philadelphia. The night also included a visit from Santa and Mrs. Clause whom passed out goody bags to all the kids. The goody bags included gift certificates courtesy of McDonalds in New Philadelphia.

"Because of the hard work of the Small Group at New Pointe Community Church, and all the donations from the community businesses we were able to keep the event free of charge for our "Bigs" and "Littles." This helps us tremendously due to the fact that we have a tight budget" stated Jessica Vitagliano, VP of Programs. "The Christmas party is one of the favorite events for our matches. We're happy that we were able to provide this event for the volunteers and the children in our organization" shared Jen Erb, Match Support Specialist.

Big Brothers Big Sisters and New Pointe Community Church would like to thank all of the kind and generous individuals who made this event possible for the youth of our communities. Big Brothers Big Sisters is always seeking adult volunteers to participate in our program as a mentor to children.
