PORT WASHINGTON -- Port Washington Village Council decided to purchase Ohio Basic Code books at a cost of $745 when they met recently.

It was reported the Christmas lights were up in the village and Joe Bourne made the announcement that Santa Claus would be at the fire station on Dec. 21.

Bourne also reported the fire department had 88 calls for the year.

Mayor Tom Gardner thanked the council members for all the accomplishments for the year. He said he would make committee assignments for the coming year at next meeting.

Motion was made to close the village books for 2008.

Council signed the Tri-County Ambulance per capita agreement for the coming year at $4.25 per person costing the village $2,346.

Next meeting of council will be Jan. 6 at 7 p.m.
