GNADENHUTTEN -- The Indian Valley FFA in Gnadenhutten had their annual holiday food drive for Thanksgiving.
The FFA students delivered the food baskets to area families for the holiday's on Tuesday, Nov. 25. The FFA has held their food drive annually for over 11 year. This year, the Indian Valley High School and Middle School worked together to collect the food with great results.
The total for the middle school was over 600 pounds of food. This year, the high school had a great competition.
Mrs. Bell's homeroom class set a new school record they collected a grand total of 1,039.4 pounds of food. Coming in second place was Miss Jessica Tucker's homeroom class with 362.501 beating out of Mr. Zachary Gardner and Mrs. Jan Leatherman with 361.937 pounds of food donated. Mr. Zachary Gardner and Mrs. Jan Leatherman class came in third by only 11 ounces. This year, the total collected was over 3,000 pound of food.
The FFA was able to help 60 families with basket of food for the holidays. The food drive was very successful.
Any food collected late will be donated to the Share-A-Christmas Food collection on behalf of the Indian Valley Junior and Senior High Schools.
