Nc'town Police Chief in accident

Newcomerstown Police Chief Timothy P. "Tim" Miller, 48, was taken to the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital after a traffic accident in Newcomerstown Dec. 11 at 12:13 p.m.

According to reports, Chief Miller was traveling west on Minden Court when his police cruiser was struck by a pickup truck driven by Oscar L. Maxwell, 48, of 625 Center St., Dennison.

Reportedly, Chief Miller was transported to the hospital for a headache after the crash but no other injuries were reported.

Troopers from the New Philadelphia post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Maxwell stopped for a stop sign on an unnamed alley and proceeded into the intersection when his truck hit the cruiser.

Maxwell was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
