GNADENHUTTEN -- Francis Picchetti has been named the Indian Valley Local Board of Education President. The board held their 2009 organizational meeting Jan. 6 to confirm the office as well as conduct other routine business.
Board member Larry Holmes was elected vice president of the board.
The meeting dates were set as the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the high school multi-purpose room.
The board approved their maximum compensation rate allowed by law at $125 per meeting with a maximum compensation level of 18 attended meetings per year.
Gale Stull was named OSBA Legislative Liaison for 2009 and Kathy Roth was named OSBA Student Achievement Liaison for the year.
Roth will serve as the delegate to the 2009 OSBA Annual Business Meeting at the Capital Conference in November 2009 and Stull will serve as alternate.
The following committees were approved:
Finance -- Roth and Picchetti;
Audit -- Roth and Stull;
Athletics -- Holmes and Todd Herman;
Building and Grounds -- Holmes and Roth;
Curriculum -- Herman and Picchetti;
Levies and Bond Issues -- Stull and Picchetti;
Negotiations Classified -- Roth and Picchetti;
Negotiations Certified -- Herman and Holmes; and
Insurance -- Stull.
All committees include Superintendent Randall Cadle and Treasurer Brad Maholm.
The board of education will meet again in regular session on Monday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. in the high school multi-purpose room.
