When one thinks of daffodils, it brings to mind the spring season and Easter, but to the American Cancer Society it signifies hope. Daffodil Days will be celebrated statewide on March 16 through March 21 this year according to the ACS.
The local chapter for Relay For Life will be offering everyone a chance to do their part to help give hope to those afflicted with cancer, as well as honor, and remember those who have been lost to the disease.
Daffodils and the newest Boyd's bear that has been created exclusively for the ACS will be available for purchase. The bear's name is Carrie N. Hope and is marked with the ACS logo and the year 2009. Boyd's have created these bears for ACS for several years now and they have proven to be a very popular item.
Daffodils and the special Boyd's bear can be purchased together for $25 or daffodils can be purchased separately for $10 per bunch. The daffodils are fresh cut and will be at their peak of opening when they arrive. Orders can be placed with any local Relay team member. Checks should be payable to the American Cancer Society. The orders and money must be received by Feb. 22. Delivery date is March 16.
