The Jan. 12 meeting of the Tuscarawas County Genealogical Society was conducted by president Jon Baker with 14 members present. Committee reports were given and discussions took place.

It was decided to have the signs on the building repainted and to have an additional sign made to be posted near the freeway.

They will be selling the reprinted edition of "Indian Lore" by Paul Kaufman on consignment.

Research secretary Christy Walker reported she answered a total of 76 research letters for 2008 and the society received a total of $605.45 for research and copy fees.

Irene Walter reported that the Holmes County Genealogical Society has volume 1, Marriages (1825-1859) available. The group will be purchasing it soon.

The next meeting will be Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m. with Baker presenting the program.
