Olde Main Street museum to have grand opening

Newcomerstown Historical Society Board of Directors, officers and committee members met at the Olde Main Street Museum and Social Center in Newcomerstown March 4 to discuss the upcoming grand opening of the new tourist attraction in the village.

The grand two-day event is planned for Friday, Mary 29 and Saturday, May 30 and will include invitations to local, area and state dignitaries, as well as major contributors, to the Friday evening dinner and program. An entertaining program is planned that will include barbershop music and the story of how this unique, one-of-a-kind facility came to be.

The Saturday open house will include the ribbon cutting ceremony and a radio remote with WTUZ radio. This long-awaited day will include the Newcomerstown Veterans' Honor Guard saluting the armed forces, as well as saluting those that lost their lives, those who have served and those who are currently serving for freedom around the world.

Also that weekend, the Temperance Tavern Museum and USS Radford National Naval Museum will be open for touring.
