Mitchell Moore, graduated from Newcomerstown High School in the class of 2009.

Unfortunately, he could not attend the commencement ceremonies since he was recruited into the United States Marines.

His recruiting officers came to school on May 27 and on May 28, Moore left for Boot Camp with the U.S. Marines at Paris Island, S.C.

He will return to Newcomerstown on Aug. 20.

He will be able to stay for 10 days before leaving again to further his education in Auto Technology. (Moore attended Buckeye Career Center where he studied auto tech.)

His base location is to be determined upon completion of Boot Camp.

He is the son of Jackie and Hoss Robinson, and Tom Moore, all of Newcomerstown.

"We are very proud of Mitchell. For the last couple of years, he has always dreamed of being a Marine. Now, he has his dream come true," Jackie Robinson, his mother, said.

"I am very proud of Mitchell that he aspired to be a Marine and wish him good luck in this new chapter of his life," Tim Sherman, principal of Newcomerstown High School, said.
