The 2009-2010 Newcomerstown school year is just around the corner and the Temperance Tavern Museum has recently been thinking about school, too!

Actually, it is more like school days of the past!

Museum members have been busy the past couple months putting a new display together and it is now ready for the public to enjoy.

A room that had been the museum's former gift shop, then later used for storage, has recently been repainted and redecorated, and is now being used to house the museum's school memorabilia.

The ever-popular, Newcosean collection has been unavailable to visitors as it had been in storage for the past few years.

The museum also has many old and rare school pictures, and sports programs from past years (some that have been recently donated).

The museum is inviting the public to stop by and see the new room, view the pictures and Newcosean collection.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m,

Admission fee is $6 (includes tour of Olde Main Street Museum). The museum will end it's regular hours on Labor Day and will be open only by appointment until the new season (May 2010).
